Every single day we look around our boat, our home, and think “Wow. She’s a beauty.”. From the light and cheery maple floors to the rich cherry wood used for the furniture, she truly is our vision come to life, and has made an exceptional home and travel companion for us over the last few years.

100% cruise ready, and the perfect home for a couple to travel on, the only reason we’re even considering letting her go is we’re getting the itch to build again, and are looking to move forward with a new build. But spending the past two years living and sailing on Elements of Life has been a dream.

When traveling, she is a sturdy boat that can handle any conditions. We bought her with the purpose of sailing through ice, and even though we may not have found any on our ventures through higher latitudes, we know she is a boat that could handle it. Built incredibly sturdy out of aluminum, there are never any concerns on where she can or can not go. Plus having a 1 meter keel lets us tuck into spaces that many other vessels can not!

Once the anchor is dropped or she is tied up at the dock, this adventurer becomes the perfect living space. In the exterior we built the cockpit with a lifting tiller, so when it is not in use, it stores out of the way and opens up an incredible amount of living space. Working your way below, you’ll first enter the deck salon where a navigation desk and captains chair for planning your next passage. Next to that is a sitting area, with windows surrounding you, to give you a full view of your surroundings while still being protected from the elements. In this area you’ll also find a folding table that can comfortably sit four persons.

Moving down out of the deck salon and into the mid-ship, a beautiful galley awaits. Shaped in a slight U-form, there are plenty of places to lean against and keep you secure while on passage, but also plenty of counter space to work on when you need it. With sliding pantry doors and a place under the stove for pan storage, it’s easy to fit all your essentials in this area.

Next to the galley is the head. A composting toilet sits on one side, with a large basin sink and shower facing you. Suited perfectly for the cruising lifestyle, this shower is on an extendable cord, which works well in tight spaces, and the nosel operates on a push button, so there is very little waste of water.

Just forward of the galley and head is the the forward salon. A great space for entertaining guests, or a large space to lounge when you’re by yourself. The seats were made extra wide, also also made long enough to comfortably sleep two adults when needed. Under the seats are easy to access storage, which only require lifting up the cushion and grabbing what you need. In this space we also have two clothing cabinets, to make very easy access for the wardrobe pieces you cycle through most often.

The very last space, and one of the things we love the most because it is so unique to our boat and well thought out for this lifestyle, is a murphy style bed v-berth. Unlatching two barrel bolts, the wall folds down into the forward salon and becomes a full size queen bed. The forward cushion just folds back from where it is stored inside, and voila, an extremely comfortable sleeping space that you won’t find on many other boats this size.
